2022 PARTICIPANT HANDBOOK

ARRIVAL/DEPARTURE

To expedite the check-in process, participants are assigned check-in times by proximity to Quartz Mountain. Please see below for specific check-in time assignments.

CHECK-IN: Thursdays, 11:30am-1:00pm

11:30am-12:00pm: Participants who live less than 150 miles from Quartz Mountain
12:00pm-12:30pm: Participants who live 150-200 miles from Quartz Mountain
12:30pm-1:00pm: Participants who live more than 200 miles from Quartz Mountain

CHECK-OUT: Sundays, 10:30-11am

HOUSING

All participants are housed in the Quartz Mountain Lodge. Guest rooms are well-appointed and include amenities such as private balconies/patios, cable television, coffeemakers, microwave, and mini refrigerator.

MEALS

All meals are served buffet style in the lodge restuarant. Quartz Mountain has contracted with a new catering service, and OFAI menus are still being developed. Therefore, specific food items are not yet confirmed and participants with limited diets are encouraged to bring snacks to supplement. Cooking facilities are not available. If you have a severe food allergy, please let us know.

WHAT TO PACK

  • Educators receiving a scholarship or 50% discount will need to bring a valid school I.D. card or other proof of employment
  • At least one well-fitting face mask
  • Casual and comfortable clothing
  • Comfortable walking shoes
  • Sweater or jacket
  • Rain gear
  • Sunglasses
  • Bug spray
  • Small amount of cash
  • Camera
  • Flashlight
  • Notebook or journal
  • Backpack
  • OPTIONAL: Clothing for Tai Chi or yoga classes
  • OPTIONAL: Plain, solid-colored item of clothing or fabric for Screenprinting Social (items will also be available for purchase)

CLASS SUPPLIES

Download the supply list for your workshop weekend below. Please review the list carefully to ensure that you bring all of the necessary items for your workshop. Some workshops require more materials than others.

The studio fee for visual arts workshops covers most supplies for the workshop, including necessary paints, brushes, canvases, paper, photo paper and inks and other materials and tools, though you may still be asked to bring a few additional items.
