2025 Film & Video

Film & video students shoot and edit short films. Film assignments may include documentary, narrative, or both. Students work in groups and can expect to learn about the various roles on a film set (director, editor, grip, props, etc.) The student films are screened in a public exhibition. Class discussions and film screenings may contain mature subject matter. Up to 20 students are accepted.

Requirements for Applicants

To apply to the film program, applicants must submit one short film, no longer than 5 minutes. Evaluators will be looking for applicants who are good storytellers; applicants with strong narrative skills should not be discouraged from applying due to unfamiliarity with the technical aspects of filmmaking. Video submissions may be any narrative format using any technique (e.g., video, animation, stop-motion, multimedia).

Videos created with smart phones and tablets are acceptable.

Application Deadline: Monday, February 17, 2025 at 11:59 p.m.
