Caitlin Clements is a proud lifelong Oklahoman who attended high school at Casady School. She is an alumnus of the Oklahoma Summer Arts Institute, where she studied film and video for two summers, in 2006 and 2007. She later served as a film and video liaison and student counselor in 2010 and 2011. Clements went on to earn her B.A. in film studies from The College of William & Mary and an M.A. from New York University’s Tisch School of the Arts, awarded by the Martin Scorsese Department of Cinema Studies. Reflecting on her summers at OSAI, Clements says, “My studies with OSAI prepared me for life as a film student at the university level, and for some of my first career opportunities in the entertainment industry. At a time when my high school's film-centric offerings were richly rewarding but still very new, the robust nature of the OSAI film and video program was a huge asset.”
Over the past ten years, she has worked in theatrical production on stage shows in New York, Toronto, and London. Her proudest accomplishment to date is her role in the development of the original stage musical Dear Evan Hansen, from early workshops through its evolution into a pop culture phenomenon, which earned a Tony Award in 2017 for Best Musical. A few of her other notable stage credits include Plaza Suite (2022 revival, Broadway), A Doll's House (2023 Tony Award nominee, Broadway), and Sunset Boulevard (2024 Olivier Award recipient, London/West End).
When asked about how her time at OSAI has impacted her life she stated, “My creative and professional lives, and the intermingling thereof, have unquestionably been enhanced by my longtime affiliation with OSAI. I have no doubt that the overall OSAI experience, and the immersive exposure it provided to numerous art forms, helped lead me into the diverse arts-centric career that I have had to date, and prepare me for opportunities still to come. And then of course there are the people—both fellow students and former faculty—who are all just the absolute best. I feel so lucky to continue crossing paths with the OSAI community, and to count them among my friends and colleagues.”
Clements is thrilled and grateful to be part of the producing team for two Broadway shows this season: The Hills of California, a new play by Jez Butterworth and Sam Mendes (running through December 22nd) and the Olivier Award-winning revival of Sunset Boulevard, starring Nicole Scherzinger, with tickets on sale through July 2025.
In addition to her theatrical work, Clements is currently a member of the 2022-2024 cohort at Bath Spa University’s postgraduate course in Writing for Young People in the United Kingdom, focusing on writing novels for teens and young adults. She recently submitted her final manuscript for her master’s program, a young adult time-slip romance titled The Nostalgia Train, set in NYC at Christmastime.
