Laura Galt is an alumna of the Oklahoma Summer Arts Institute, where she attended for three different disciplines: mime in 1984, ballet in 1985, and acting in 1987. Looking back at the summers she spent at OSAI it would seem as though she could do it all— and that still holds true today. She is now a Drama Desk Award winner and Broadway Tony Award winner, as well as an indie film producer, dancer, director, casting director, assistant director, and educator/teaching artist.

Looking back at her time at OSAI, Laura said that "The encouraging nature of the faculty and administration at the Oklahoma Summer Arts Institute gave me the confidence to continue dancing and acting into college and throughout adulthood." She went on to say, "Whenever camp ended, I had always felt I had grown as an artist and left knowing that I was part of something that would always hold a special place in my heart."

Galt was on the producing team of the Broadway musical adaptation of The Outsiders. This past summer, the production won the Tony Award for Best Musical along with three other Tony Award for Best Musical, along with three other Tony Awards.

Most recently she filmed a television comedy pilot, Aquanauts, in conjunction with the University of Texas TV/Film Department, performed in Austin's Dance Project collective with a dance company, Still Dancing ATX, and is scheduled to work on the Taylor Sheridan series 1923, as a Foxtrot/Charleston specialist dancer.
